Product Series

The product series is divided into three module .

  1. Series with constant quotient
  2. Series with increasing quotient
  3. Series with decreasing quotient

Series with constant quotient

In the series of constant quotient of product series, each term is multiplied by a constant to get the next term.

Example 3,12,48,192___
A) 777
B) 770
C) 766
D) 768

Answer:D) 768

Explanation:Here each term is multiplied by 4 to get the next term.So the answer is 192*4=768

Series with increasing quotient

In the series of increasing quotient the term are multiplied by a variable to get the next term. The variable are also a certain order and in a increasing order.

Example: 4,4,8,24,96........
A) 490
B) 480
C) 500
D) 470

Answer:B) 480

Explanation: Here the 1st term is multiplied by 1to get the second term. Then 2 nd term is multiplied by 2 to get the 3rd number..and so on.so answer is 96*5=480

Series with decreasing quotient

In the series of decreasing quotient the term are multiplied by a variable to get the next term. The variable are also a certain order and in a decreasing order.

Example: 6,24,72,144.......
A) 144
B) 140
C) 145
D) 150

Answer:A) 20

Explanation: Here the 1st term is multiplied by 4 to get the second term. Then 2 nd term is multiplied by 3 to get the 3rd term and so on.so answer is 144*1=144
