Light
It is a form of energy which produces the sensation of sight.
1. How are we able to see the objects ?
Answer : When light falls on any object is reflected from it. When this reflected light is received by our eyes, we are able to see the object.
2.What is reflection of light ?
Answer : The phenomenon of bouncing back of light to the same medium after striking the surface of any object is called reflection of light.
Incident ray
The ray which approaches the reflecting surface is the incident ray.
Reflected ray
The ray which is coming out from the reflecting surface is called reflected ray.
Incident angle
The angle between the normal and the incident ray is known as angle of incidence.
Angle of Reflection
The angle between the reflected ray and normal is known as angle of reflection.
Laws of reflection
- The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.
- The incident ray, reflected ray and normal at the point of incidence all lie in the same plain.
